Paul Wadsworth discovered coarse gold in a quartz vein on May 23, 1998. The vein was exposed on a logging road. This area was previously explored for molybdenum at the Big Joe (103I 023 MINFILE). This vein was hand mined from a 14 metres length to a depth of about 1 metre. The hostrock is coarse grit and pebble conglomerate and greywacke which contains metamorphic muscovite. The strata strike 060 degrees and dip 30 degrees southeast. The Wadsworth vein strikes 175 degrees and dips 80 degrees east. Granodiorite is exposed 150 metres southwest of the vein.
